Imagine a large, calm body of water, the Lac de la Haute-Sûre, stretching across the image. You can feel the imagined smoothness of the water's surface. The water is mostly still, with perhaps some gentle ripples. On the far side of the water, a steep hillside rises up, covered in a dense forest of trees. You might imagine the varied textures of tree bark and leaves. On the left side of the image, the shoreline curves gently, and you might sense the presence of more trees and vegetation. You can feel the imagined edge of the water meeting the land. A distinctive feature is a floating bridge, which is a straight line crossing part of the water. The sky above is overcast with grey clouds, creating a soft, diffused light. The scene evokes a sense of peace and tranquility, typical of a lakeside setting.
